This year, I participated in the Port to Fort 6K Walk/Run, benefitting my favorite organization, the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation!! This huge event included thousands of runners supporting BIT, not to mention all of the volunteers and sponsors. Plus, there was nice weather and lots of happy people. Congratulations and thank you to my team! Shout out to Hannah Gore for placing 2nd in her age group (she rocks.)! I had so much fun and can’t wait for next year!

I had so much fun helping out and singing the national anthem at the Trike-a-Thon for Equipment Connections For Children! When a child outgrows adaptive equipment, which can be very costly, ECFC can give it to another child who needs it. Families are connected to reuse equipment and support each other. This event was created to bring together children, whether they have disabilities or not, to play games and have a good time. I know the kids had tons of fun!
The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation provides housing for critically ill children and their families. I played games and made crafts with some girls there and they had a lot of fun! One girl, Jessica, was so strong and mature as her brother is in the hospital. I admire another girl for being able to have such a good time after after she had just had brain surgery and while her family struggled to find out where they would be staying that night. I meet so many inspirational people, especially children, at Believe In Tomorrow!
On Easter, my parents and I volunteered with Happy Helpers for the Homeless together. Happy Helpers has been serving the poor for 19 years. We helped to share sandwiches, clothes, Easter baskets, and love with the many people in need. It was so nice to see their smiles and how appreciative they are!
