Governor’s Citation!

Governor's Citation

I’m so excited and proud to have received a Governor’s Citation for my “outstanding services to the citizens of this State”!

Kids Are Heroes Day

At Kids Are Heroes Day, I met kids from all over the world who are making a difference, and I represented and gave information about the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation. Believe In Tomorrow provides housing for critically ill children and their families, believing that normal family life and keeping families together during a child’s medical crisis has a powerful influence on the healing process. I’m so appreciative of this and the many other opportunities offered to me by Kids Are Heroes!

Make A Difference Day: 29th Annual Believe In Tomorrow Benefit & Auction

Being the International Spokesperson for the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, I worked the information table at the Believe In Tomorrow Benefit & Auction. I was able to answer questions and give information about BIT to those attending the event. The benefit was held at M&T Bank Stadium and it was successful, as always! The funds raised go to the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation which serves critically ill children and families. This is Believe In Tomorrow’s largest and arguably most exciting event for the year and I love attending it! October 22, 2011 is also Make A Difference Day! This day of service is a celebration of the power of neighbors helping neighbors, mobilizing over 3 million volunteers to create change in their communities. Did you volunteer on Make A Difference Day?

Make A Difference Day: Greater Baltimore Heart Walk

I represented the American Heart Association and their Go Red For Women innitiative at the Baltimore Heart Walk. Many don’t know that heart disease is our nation’s number one killer of women, so we encouraged people to sign up to become a part of the movement and to get more information. I was able to meet so many people and raise awareness about the risks of heart disease and stroke! The event raised $1,011,274! October 22, 2011 is also Make A Difference Day! This day of service is a celebration of the power of neighbors helping neighbors, mobilizing over 3 million volunteers to create change in their communities. LifePoint Church: Risk Love

LifePoint Church cancelled all church services for the weekend of October 15th & 16th to give members a chance to “be the church” by serving! Over 1400 individuals volunteered, as a way to make a statement of God’s love! I went with family and friends to the Believe In Tomorrow House at Johns Hopkins, where we made lunch for the families, cleaned the house, and made crafts with the kids…that was a glittery mess! Though I volunteer regularly with the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, hundreds of people were introduced to new organizations or even to community service in general and I’m so glad to have been a part of that!
