The Huffman family headed back to the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation to cook another dinner for the families there, and I took a M.O.D.E.L., Layilah, with me! We made lots of different pastas, garlic bread, green beans, salad, cake, cupcakes, brownies…a huge dinner! This definitely took some stress off of the families there…and it was a lot better than hospital food! It was a lot of fun and I’m glad that I was able to introduce Layilah to Believe In Tomorrow because I just love this amazing organization!
I was so honored to throw the first pitch at a Hagerstown Suns baseball game! I was so nervous – I’m no baseball player! But it was a great experience! People even asked me to sign their baseballs!
I was able to discuss and give out information about heart disease and stroke with Ciji, Miss Maryland International and Sandra, Mrs. Maryland International, at the American Heart Association booth at the African American Heritage Festival. Ciji and I even got to do a radio drop while we were there!
